Meet the team
Heidi qualified from Cambridge with a veterinary degree in 2008. Horses have always been a great passion, starting at an early age, with her grandmothers warmblood line. Heidi joined the evolution team in 2013 with the with the prime objective of setting up our equine section which has continued to blossom since. Heidi specialises in mare reproduction and she can be found during the Spring months conscientiously scanning mares as often is required to get a positive outcome– a foal!
Ashley’s fascination with horses stems from his dad’s long-term interest in National Hunt Racing, which figures prominently in even his earliest memories. Graduating in 2012 Ashley began practicing both farm and equine, and before long his time and skill set was dedicated predominantly to equine. Ashley joined the Evolution team in 2015 and is well known for his area of expertise in challenging equine medical cases, from diagnoses to rehabilitation.
Alice graduated from the University of Nottingham in 2019 and came across to the Evolution team in July 2024. Prior to her starting with us, Alice spent 5 years working in a mixed practice with a main focus on equine, as her personal preference. Alice has an interest in equine medicine, particularly managing hormones and laminitis, diagnostic imaging and reproduction.
George Joined the evolution team after several successful placements at the practice, and graduating from the University of Bristol in 2022. George has built up a lovely client base of his own and is somewhat growing a reputation in the practice for his equine dentistry ability.
Sally qualified from Glasgow University in 2002 and has practiced with large animals ever since. Having had her own since she was three, horses have always played a large role in Sally’s day-to-day life, and as her mum will say “if it hadn’t been for horses, Sally would never have become a vet”. Although she mainly puts her focus into the farm side of the practice now, you will often still find her out on an equine visit or two.
Brendan graduated from Cambridge in 2009 and has solely practiced with large animals. In January 2012 he joined the evolution team and by August 2012 was officially a partner. Brendan, like Sally, concentrates on the farm side of the practice however will have the occasional equine visit squeezed in and of course, being married to our head equine vet Heidi.. is never too far away from a horse!
